MED ClimAccelerator

Supporting sustainable and cleantech startups

MED ClimAccelerator is a unique accelerator falling under Climate-KIC’s ClimAccelerator scheme whose core aim is to support sustainable and cleantech startups, resulting in measurable and tangible solutions towards climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The consortium comprises three partners: our lead Building Global Innovators (BGI, Portugal), Chrysalis Leap (Cyprus) and MCAST. MED ClimAccelerator was launched in 2021 and will be running till 2023. It supports individuals and start-ups in the first three stages of development through tailored training, mentoring and funding.

In 2021, this programme welcomed 25 startups fighting climate change from providing clean energy alternatives for industry to the development of local zero-waste food systems and innovative urban mobility schemes. We are confident that the pathway to carbon neutral and circular economy is slowly becoming a reality!
